“Dyatlov”

Intrigued by the enigmatic “Dyatlov” affair of February 2, 1959 and the catastrophic deaths of the parties involved, I felt compelled to create an image of the group based on the intense feelings of regret and sorrow for the individuals and the bazaar manner in which they met their demise. The vintage photographs of individuals who had met inexplicable ends stirred personal feelings of nostalgic remorse. The surrounding border is emblematic of the Flag of the Soviet Union.
