“Il Momento Prima Della Tragedia” series

A photograph of John and Jackie Kennedy at the Dallas Airport a short time before his assassination inspired this work.. I was intrigued by the fact that they had no comprehension of the impending tragedy. This motivated me to produce the series “ IL Momento Prima Della Tragedia”. These “Moments Prior to Tragedy” are constructed from images that were never intended to function as significant social commentary. This sense of loss is intended to evoke a longing for unobtainable avoidance or control over events in our lives. It is this systematic analysis of the fact that any moment in our lives is the moment prior to tragedy that I found so compelling while compiling these triptychs.
